To set the scene we have heard of a few activities happening locally, great for the kids! (and the big kids too!) Here is a sneak peek - but there is much more to be announced as we approach spring...
1) If you fancy something 'traditional' and quirky (Or should I say quacky!...No?ok...) The Yarmouth annual Duck Race will be held on Saturday 19th April, when 1,000 bright yellow plastic ducks will be released into the River Yar.
Yarmouth is only a 10 minute drive from Tapnell Farm. It is a beautiful seaside town with lots of quaint shops and cafe's and some delicious eateries too.

3) Some of the Island’s major attractions will be lining up special Easter events for their visitors:
Last year Blackgang Chine held an Eggstravaganza; See: http://www.blackgangchine.com/events/easter-eggstravaganza. (Black Gang Chine is a 25 minute drive from Tapnell Farm)
Also hot off the back of the 3D blockbuster movie 'Walking with Dinosaurs' we have just heard that they are opening 'Restricted Area 5' at Blackgang Chine, complete with amazing animatronic Dinosaurs, like something you have never seen before. We hear its better than the one in Devon (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=clo8sWqBsEw) Watch this space for more information....
The Island is also keeping and improving its own 'Walking with Dinosaurs' experience

And don't forget you can book to go on your very own fossil hunt with 'The Fossil Man' when you come to stay.

Trivia: Did you know....? Blackgang Chine is the oldest theme park in the United Kingdom! (and it is still going strong!)
4) The Isle of Wight Steam Railway has a kids-go-free offer (The Steam Railway is a 30 minute drive from Tapnell Farm)
See: http://www.iwsteamrailway.co.uk/events/kids-go-free.aspx
And there are other Easter egg trails on the Island in beautiful locations - watch this space to find out more.

In the meantime keep an eye on our blogs and newsletters for more things to look forward to on the Isle of Wight this year. We are also teaming up with local activity providers and points of interest to bring our guests exclusive offers.
