From Last Year - Trip Advisor base the award on our reviews - which we have had many of. This year our reviews have been fantastic and we would like thank those of you who took the time to share your experience with us. We only hope to get better - so here's to 2015!
In 2014 we also took home the silver in the Beautiful South Holiday Accommodation Provider of the Year which has gained us an entry in the 2015... (read more)
Please have a look at our site map so you know where all the properties, restaurant, play barn are in relation to each other.
The McGrath Family!
Thanks to David McGrath and family for sending us their wonderful photo's
The competition was very tight, once again. It would seem that a lot of you are budding photographers with a lot of skills.
The reason we chose this image is because it encompasses everything we love about the farm, The Eco Lodges, our ethos and the general way of life here.
Look how relaxed Mrs McGrath is? She has time to unwind with a glass of wine, in front of one of our glorious sunsets - In her Family Guy PJ's, because no one at Tapnell Farm will judge you for wearing your PJ's whenever you like, in fact we think PJ's and Wellies are a great... (read more)
Have you seen our blog on www.tapnellfarmcottages.com?
During December 2014 we published 31 blogs highlighting the beauty of the Island this Winter...
It also included the 12 days of Tapnell... which is quite fun.

A week or so ago we had the team from Delicious Magazine come to stay with us, and show us how to cook up a storm on our stoves and BBQ's.
We had a great time modeling for the article and getting to sample all of the delicious recipes. One of our Favorites was the Fired Flatbreads with Sliced Steak and Baba Ghanoush - sounds complicated, but it really isn't. Why not pick up your copy of the Magazine this month, and try some out for yourselves - After all we have plenty of time for outdoor cooking with the Indian Summer that we have forecast!
Well this is an easy one on the Isle of Wight, whether you are glamping in a safari tent at Tom’s Eco Lodge www.tomsecolodge.com or pitching your own tent in one of the many campsites on the Isle of Wight. There is no shortage of green pastures to make camp in, just don’t forget your marshmallows of the camp fire!
Whether you are out camping or in the comfort of your own garden it is always fun to build a den (Bear Grylls style – He was born on the Isle of Wight don’t you know?)
You could freestyle with bits and bobs you find laying around, or why not book onto a ‘Bushcraft’ course with the experts and learn... (read more)
The beginner’s hill: Most of the hills at Tapnell Farm are nice and grassy and have a very gradual slope.
The Intermediate Hill: The coastal path to the east of Yarmouth has a nice grassy slope, with views to the ‘mainland’ and to Yarmouth pier. Just make sure you don’t roll too far, or you will end up in the Solent!
The Experts Hill: One of the most prominent hills on the Isle of Wight – Tennyson Down at Freshwater Bay is a challenge for any pro ‘roller’. We recommend taking this hill in stages, as you could pick up speed and turn yourself into a human hay bale! Also stay clear of the cliff edge!
